Thomas A. Bienz, M.D.
Dr. Bienz has been with Premier Bone & Joint Centers since 1999. After receiving his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. He then went on to complete a hand surgery fellowship from the Philadelphia Hand Center at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Bienz is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery.
Dr. Bienz performs WALANT surgery which allows for wide-awake procedures with no IV needed. He also performs wrist arthroscopy and tendon transfer to restore function and Microsurgery for nerve repair. He has special training in small and large joint replacement from knee and shoulders to finger and thumb joints.
When not treating patients, Dr. Bienz enjoys aviation, cycling, skiing, and riding horses. He is an ATP-rated multi-engine pilot and appreciates the efficiency afforded by general aviation in accessing clinics throughout the state.
